Some songs are born to be listened to; others, to be sung by many people. Inspired by Patti Smith’s free, collective, participatory spirit, this activity invites the public to learn and share one of the artist’s most emblematic compositions, in a celebration open to all voices, regardless of prior musical experience. Guided by musicians Álvaro Bárcena (guitar and vocals), Sil Fernández (bass), Sam Rodríguez (keyboards) and Alejandro Blanco (drums) –who will also perform other songs related to the Laureate’s career– and conducted by Jorge Viejo, the attendees will discover the history and meaning of the song while preparing it together to perform it as a large citizen choir.
