Not Kids Anymore. Art installation. Patti Smith.

This installation invites you to immerse yourself in the creative universe of 2026 Princess of Asturias Laureate for the Arts Patti Smith. Photographs, paintings, texts and other original elements by the artist make up a journey through her life story. In addition, two Asturian artists, María Peña Coto and Federico Granell, offer their own interpretation of this creator, who has turned artistic freedom into a way of life. This project has also counted on the collaboration of the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation and the Kurimanzutto Gallery.

  • Place: La Vega Arms Factory. Arts and Crafts building.

Landscape in Waiting. Art installation. Svalbard Global Seed Vault.

Preserving agricultural biodiversity is one of the major shared responsibilities of our time. This installation takes as its starting point the work of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, to reflect on the fragility and wealth of seeds that guarantee the future of human food. A symbolic landscape that links memory, nature and hope, includes an interactive artwork by artist Hugo Martínez-Tormo.

  • Place: La Vega Arms Factory. Anteroom of the Warehouse and Commercial Warehouse buildings.

Gaia and Museum of the Moon. Art installation. Christina Koch.

As a tribute to 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for Concord Christina Koch, this installation brings together the monumental works Gaia and Museum of the Moon by British artist Luke Jerram. Suspended in the exhibition space, the Earth and the Moon are presented to scale as two celestial bodies that invite us to contemplate our place in the universe and reflect on the links that unite humanity beyond borders and distances. The installation is complemented by a lunar landscape that serves as an evocation of human exploration of space.

Museum of the Moon is a seven-metre diameter work created from detailed images of the lunar surface obtained by NASA. It reproduces the satellite at an approximate scale of 1:500 000 (each linear centimetre of the work represents 5 kilometres of the surface of the Moon).

Gaia presents our planet in a seven-metre diameter work, made from detailed images of the Earth’s surface obtained by NASA, at an approximate scale of 1:1 800 000 (each centimetre of the work represents 18 kilometres of the Earth’s surface).

  • Date: From Friday 16th to Saturday 24th October.
  • Place: La Vega Arms Factory. Cannons building and Warehouse building

The Parrot Club. Installation. Julian Barnes.

Dedicated to the universe of 2026 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature Julian Barnes, The Parrot Club invites you to discover a body of work that combines wit, irony and a profoundly human perspective on love, memory, art and the passage of time. The “members” who visit this space will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of an exclusive literary club halfway between London and Paris, a place where conversations seem to go on indefinitely among shelves crammed with books and cozy lamps.

  • Date: From Friday 16th to Saturday 24th October.
  • Place: La Vega Arms Factory. Foundry building.

Ghibli Spa. Art installation and exhibition. Studio Ghibli.

This installation transforms the space into a cinema dedicated to the universe of Studio Ghibli, 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, and invites visitors to explore an imaginary world populated by extraordinary creatures, unforgettable landscapes and stories that have thrilled generations of viewers. A journey through fantasy and emotion that reveals the unique perspective of a studio that has transformed animation into a universal art form.
The installation will also house a collective exhibition in which some of Spain’s most outstanding illustrators –Ricardo Cavolo, Conrad Roset, Paco Roca, Sergio Mora, María Hesse, Olga Capdevila, Flavita Banana, Ana Galvañ and Ana Müshell– reinterpret the figure of Totoro, one of Studio Ghibli’s most emblematic characters. Their works offer diverse perspectives on this icon of animation, establishing a dialogue between the universe of the Japanese studio and contemporary Spanish creativity.
