Music occupies a prominent place in some of Julian Barnes’ most important works. Inspired by his book The Noise of Time, in which the 2026 Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature narrates an unorthodox biography of the musician Shostakovich, this show intertwines music and words to delve into the territories of memory, artistic creation and the relationship between the individual and their time. Via a musical performance by David Roldán (viola), María Ovín (violin), Marta Martínez (cello) and Pedro Ordieres (violin) and the reading of texts selected by David Blanka, the offering recreates the atmosphere of a work that reflects on art, freedom and the capacity of culture to withstand the passage of time.
