Restrictions in Valdesoto, recipient of the 2025 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award

Transport for the media

The Princess of Asturias Foundation will provide transport for journalists who wish to travel next Saturday 25th October to attend the bestowal of the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award by Their Majesties The King and Queen, Their Royal Highnesses The Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía in Valdesoto (Siero). Two minibuses will depart at 9:00am from the Accreditation Office located at the Barceló Oviedo Cervantes Hotel (Calle Cervantes, no. 13). Those wishing to use this means of transport must confirm so with the Foundation’s Communications Department (Tel.: 985 25 87 55 and prensa@fpa.es) before 2:00pm on Friday 24th October.  

Access by private car

Accredited journalists who wish to travel by private car to the parish must leave their vehicles in the Foundation’s designated parking areas in the field known as Prau de Vicentín (El Recuisteu/Cotiellos intersection), near the area where the Casona de Leceñes country house is located. The number of places in this car park is limited, and access will be closed at 9:45am.

Visit to Valdesoto

During the visit, there will be a shuttle bus between the Casona de Leceñes and the vicinity of the church.

Return to Oviedo

At the conclusion of events, the return journey will take place around 1:30pm from the Casa Telva restaurant car park. 

Press pool

The media is informed that there may be press pools at certain points along the route due to limited space. The Foundation will provide high-resolution digital photographs to media outlets that request them via its Press Office. 

Sound recording

The Foundation will provide interested media with the audio signal of the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award Ceremony. The audio outputs will be located next to the platforms reserved for the press in the field known as Prau del Palacio, where the bestowal ceremony will take place.

Technical data for the television signal 

The Principality of Asturias Television Corporation (TPA) will provide the pool signal, which includes only the bestowal ceremony and related speeches, ending with the Asturian anthem. Coverage for the rest of the visit will be personalized and is restricted.
