The Princess of Asturias Foundation

During their stay in Asturias, the 2009 Prince of Asturias Awards Laureates will attend a series of events as well as meeting the press on a number of occasions. The timetable for the press conferences is as follows.

All press conferences will be held in the “Salón de Proyecciones” at the Reconquista Hotel (entrance c/ Arquitecto Reguera).

TUESDAY, 20th OCTOBER

4.00 p.m. Press conference with Martin Cooper, Prince of Asturias Award laureate for Technical and Scientific Research.

WEDNESDAY, 21st OCTOBER

4.45 p.m. Press conference with Ismaíl Kadaré, Prince of Asturias Award laureate for Literature.

6.30 p.m. Press conference with Sir David Attenborough, Prince of Asturias Award laureate for Social Sciences.

THURSDAY, 22nd OCTOBER

10.30 a.m. Press conference with José Narro, Vice-Chancellor of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Prince of Asturias Award laureate for Communication and Humanities.

11.30 a.m. Press conference with Raymond S. Tomlinson, Prince of Asturias Award laureate for Technical and Scientific Research.

4.00 p.m. Press conference with Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, Prince of Asturias Award laureate for International Cooperation.

4.45 p.m. Press conference with Klaus Wowereit, Governing Mayor of Berlin; Walter Momper, current President of the Berlin Parliament and Mayor of the city when the Wall fell in 1989 and until 1991; Eberhard Diepgen, Mayor of Western Berlin between 1984 and 1989 and Mayor of Berlin between 1991 and 2001; Prince of Asturias Award for Concord.
