The Laureate will attend an event in Oviedo with teachers and students who have participated in the “Meryl’s Choices” activity within the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme.

The actress will also meet with students from the School of Dramatic Arts of the Principality of Asturias (ESAD).

The ceremony will be held on Friday 20th October at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo 

Registration will open in two stages, on 17th and 22nd October.

The events will be held in Avilés, Gijón, La Fresneda, Mieres, Oviedo and Porrúa.

The Toma 3 and Meidinerz venues, in Gijón, will also host events focussing on the Japanese writer’s work.

The La Vega Arms Factory, in Oviedo, will have spaces dedicated to the Laureate.

The deadline for applying for passes is Friday 13th October.

PLEASE NOTE: The reproduction and broadcasting in Japan of images of Haruki Murakami at the events organized to mark the Princess of Asturias Awards will require prior consent from his office.

Prior to the screening, there will be a musical performance by a group inspired by Donna & the Dynamos from the film.

The event will take place on Tuesday 10th October.

47 nominations encompassing 18 different nationalities are in the running for this Award, the last of eight international awards that are bestowed each year by the Princess of Asturias Foundation, now in their 43rd year.
